A Bulawayo businessman is in trouble for wholesaling liquid petroleum gas without a Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority licence.
The businessman Gomba Nyararai (31) pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya who convicted and fined him $100.
The court was told that Gomba owns Zimba Gas Company in Bulawayo and on September 8 2015 he was issued with a notice to produce a Zera licence within seven days to the nearest police station or Zera office.
Gomba failed to apply for a licence from September 8 2015 to October 19 2016 but continued with his business of selling liquid petroleum gas.
He was arrested on October 19 at his business premises while selling the liquid petroleum gas. The gas worth $1 850 was recovered from the shop.
