Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts (IYASA) a leading arts institution based in Bulawayo is set to embark on a massive talent identification programme in Zimbabwe and Africa in a move meant to create local and international platforms for fresh talent, Radio Dialogue reported.
The programme titled, "Stepping into the Future" will see IYASA collaborate with international partners and artists.
IYASA director Nkululeko Dube, said the idea was born out of some of their international partnerships and their passion to discover artistic talent.
The programme is targeting young artists from the age of 18 to 26 years. Dube said the programme will also allow artists who possess extra-ordinary talent but are not in the 18-26 age group.
However, Dube warned prospective members not to view the platform as a quick ticket to fame and fortune.
"The problem is when we advertise for these projects many people see them as an opportunity to go overseas where they believe there are better opportunities. With all due respect this is not a quick ticket to fame and fortune. A lot of commitment will be required. A lot of hard work and training will be demanded before rewards can be reaped out of the project," he said.
IYASA is currently on tour in Europe and Dube says he is satisfied with the performances they have staged so far.
