A EDZAI ISU Theatre Arts Project will this week stage their much awaited play After Flashbacks and Setbacks at Theatre in The Park.
The play on healing and reconciliation is written, produced and directed award winning theatre practitioner Tafadzwa Muzondo and choreographed by Gibson Sarari.
It will run for two days only on the 27th and 28th Mayat Theatre in The Park and it will premiere at Zimbabwe Hall in Highfield as part of Africa Day commemorations on the 26th May.
After Flashbacks & Setbacks is a proactive play on healing peace and reconciliation from the eyes of the ordinary Zimbabweans who have been victims and perpetrators of some form of violence over the years.
The play is aimed at raising community awareness on the proposed National Peace and Reconciliation framework and peace and reconciliation thus advancing a community driven approach to national healing, peace and reconciliation.
It is a powerful fusion of drama, dance, poetry and music that looks beyond the flashbacks and setbacks, emotions and frustrations, individual interests and political resistance, questions and suggestions to a live platform where people decide what healing and reconciliation means to them considering their particular circumstances.
The play is written, directed and produced by award winning theatre practitioner Tafadzwa Muzondo, choreographed by Gibson Sarari and features Mbizo Chirasha, Brezhnev Guveya, Julius Julius, Tafadzwa Muzondo, Livius Chitsungo, Charlotte Munyanyi, Samantha Ndlovu and Charles Biniweri.
