In a clear indication that Zimbabweans in the Diaspora are growing homesick, Audius Mtawarira has said he is abandoning his Aussie base and returning back to Zimbabwe.
The formerly Australia-based Zimbabwean musician played as a supporting act at Energy Mutodi's launch of his second album, Kumasese at the Rainbow Towers.
This was his first show after his return in August.
Audius left fans screaming for more after singing hit song Muchandiona off his latest album Day Like This.
Mtawarira said he is relocating to Zimbabwe with a view that there is an atmosphere of business going on and it would not make sense to be left out.
Mtawarira said he has brought all the knowledge from his experiences overseas and is willing to invest it in the local music industry.
He said he is currently building a recording studio at Lake Chivero which is scheduled to open in three weeks time.
The soul sensation who migrated to Australia in 1997 urged musicians to work together rather than quarrelling and fighting through music.
Mtawarira's manager, Itai Mutinhiri, who is also a news anchor at ZBC TV, said she is currently working on rebuilding his fan base and has many shows lined up.
