Famous comedian, Lazarus Boora, affectionately known as Gringo after the popular local drama series, has hinted bouncing back to the small screen.

In an interview with the state media ZBC News the talented comedian hinted that returning to the grand stage is imminent.

When quizzed about his long absence from television, Gringo attributed lack of financial resources as the major cause for his disappearance from the small screen.

"I think the responsible authorities should take the entertainment industry seriously and the government should allocate resources to the arts industry as it lightens up the nation," said Gringo, who is always in his usual humorous manner. But Gringo's fans ought not to despair as the popular comedian promised a return to the small screen this year.

Lazarus Boora shot to fame in the late 90s when he starred alongside the late actress, Sithembeni Makawa, known as Mai Gweshegweshe and the drama's writer, Enock Chihombori, popularly known as Toby in the popular local television drama series, Gringo.

The local film industry has cited financial challenges and lack of government support as the major setback in the sector which has seen the death of most productions.
