Tuku Canadian Concert morphing into a Zimbabwe Solidarity Tour

Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi, arguably Zimbabwe's most internationally known acclaimed artist, having graced notable U.S late night shows such as the David Letterman late night show; is the biggest international Zimbabwean concept to come out of the country since 1980. Recently introduced to the Afro-pop Hall of fame in the United States, Tuku has long been known as Zimbabwe's unofficial Ambassador to the global world.
Coming this August to Canada for only three shows "Tuku" is expected to draw throngs of fans, after having had a very successful USA tour. The tour now moves to Canada where the living music legend is scheduled to perform at benefit concerts. The Canada tour will start from the West coast to the East coast with stops in three cities; Vancouver, BC being the kick off event.
People are being encouraged to come and see the legend, whilst showing their support for quality Zimbabwean music. Social media sites have already started spreading the word out that, this tour is a must see.
With a career that spans over sixty classic recordings and whose own life story has been one of nothing but struggle and overcoming one's; life's obstacles. Oliver Mtukudzi is seen as someone who relates to typical Zimbabweans of all stripes. Almost every Zimbabwean can find some type of connection to the music that Tuku espouses.
All Zimbabweans within Canada are being asked to come out and support Oliver Mtukudzi according to Tinos Taurai Viriri President for African Canadian Art Society, what sets this tour apart from others is the manner in which it is being facilitated to be a family friendly event conducive for bringing children.
Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi is scheduled to appear at three venues whilst in Canada. As Zimbabwe-Diaspora begins to care and voice their concern about the tone, of the message being disseminated about Zimbabwe, people are being asked to start supporting Zimbabwe with their cheque books. The benefit concerts are being promoted by African Canadian Art Society (ACASO) a non-profit organization based in Edmonton, Alberta and STAMCAM based in Toronto. Proceeds from the tour will go to African Canadian Art Society programs in Canada and charitable organizations that support orphanages in Zimbabwe and Africa.
Local media outlets within Canada have been invited and will be attending some of the events to cover the character and emotions of the Zimbabweans within Canada. Oliver Mtukudzi known for carefully balancing compelling rhythms and catchy melodies with insightful lyrics, has built a vast body of work that is politically and socially relevant, yet entertaining to a worldwide audience. Tuku is an alumni of Acoustic Africa II (2011 edition) and a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Eastern and Southern Africa, focusing on Young People's Development whilst furthering awareness on HIV and AIDS Prevention.
