POLE dancer Noleen "Zoey" Sifelani says Beverly "Bev" Sibanda's repentance was a mere hoax, after she realised that her popularity was dwindling, whilst her star continue to soar.

Two weeks ago Bev announced she had left showbiz for good after Prophet Blessing Magaya told her to turn her life to God.

Speaking to Chronicle's Saturday Leisure, Zoey said she doubted Bev's reason for retirement and described it as the highest form of deception.

She said Bev saw the writing on the wall that her time in showbiz was up, after failing to upstage her.

"In my opinion Bev retired because of me. She saw that her popularity was going down. She needed a way to make money. I taught her everything and she knew she could not beat me at my own game," she said.

Bev started off as a dancer with Zoey in the Red Angels.

Zoey said ever since Bev's retreat, her bookings have been full and her album was proving to be popular.

"The demand for me has been extremely high. This trend has been going on for a long time and I think Bev has been seeing this and luckily she found a way out," said Zoey.

However, this is not new, as the two have been at each other's throats since they burst onto adult entertainment scene.

Stories about their "beef" have circulated in the Press for the past three years, with accusations from both camps ranging from witchcraft and copying each other's dance moves.

Although the two have in the past said they do not harbour hatred towards each other, their actions over time have spoken louder than their words.

One would have thought their enmity would be over when two weeks ago Bev announced her abrupt "divorce" from showbiz and turning to God.

However, lo and behold, the two are at each other's throats yet again!

According to media reports, Bev sent disturbing text messages to Zoey over comments on a radio show that Zoey made doubting Bev's repentance.

These obscene messages were sent by Bev allegedly when she was in the house of God last Sunday.

Zoey said Bev's behaviour indicates she has not changed at all.

She said Bev was not genuine because she was hurling insults at her via Whatsapp when she was in church.

"On Sunday, Bev was texting me at church via Whatsapp and saying, 'Uchasu** chando. You need deliverance. I am giving you three months, Holy Ghost fire all over your body'. Even her manager apologised for her behaviour. This is not the behaviour of someone who has repented. If so I am now afraid of going to church," said Zoey.

Zoey said she was surprised that Bev was listening to her speak on radio.

Bev referred all questions to her manager Harpers Mapimhidze who declined to comment on the issue choosing to say all was set for Bev to move into her new shop.

"I cannot comment about what Bev and Zoey said to each other. All I can say is by the end of February, Bev would have moved into her shop that prophet Magaya promised her," he said.
