Tuku receives global award

Musician Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi was presented with the Global Service Award by the Skagit Valley College in the United States of America for his contribution to children's rights.
The award was presented to him early this month during his tour of the United States.
Tuku's manager Sam Mataure told a Japanese magazine Music Magazine that they were ecstatic about the award.
"It shows how the global market continues to gain confidence in the super star," he said.
The award trophy is inscribed: "Skagit Valley College Globalfest 2014. Global Service Award, January 2014. Presented to Oliver Mtukudzi for his tireless devotion as a champion for the rights of the children in Africa."
Tuku also made headlines earlier this year when his album ‘Sarawoga' was selected as one of the best world music albums for 2013 by the same magazine.
The musician has many awards that he got in his lengthy career.
His album "Sarawoga" is currently riding high on both local and international market.
