Late South Africa's founding President Nelson Mandela, Zindzi says she will miss the Oscars set to be held on 2 March as they would be attending an event to honour her father at Westminster Abbey in London.

World renowned rock band U2 is expected to perform their song Ordinary Love dedicated to Mandela at the Oscars. The exclusive performance of the song would be the first time the band does it live.

Zindzi who recently received an honour on behalf of Madiba at the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards in the United States posted on micro blogging site Twitter saying, "Due to the fact that we're attending a 'Service for the Life and Work of Nelson Mandela' at Westminster Abbey on 3rd March,  we shall regretfully not be at the Oscars on the 2nd March.

"However, our humble respect and love goes to family friends and comrades Bono andU2. Thanks for the 'Ordinary Love' for South Africa from extraordinary souls."

Ordinary Love was written by the group for the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and is nominated for Original Song.

The three other nominated songs are 'Happy' from 'Despicable Me 2', 'Let It Go' from 'Frozen' and 'The Moon Song' from 'Her'.
