Iconic Zimbabwean musician, Oliver Mtukudzi, has sent a message to Alick Macheso's camp apologising as he will not be able to make it into the country in time for the top Sungura musician's 46th birthday gig at Glamis Arena in Harare tomorrow, June 6, 2014.
Tuku, who was billed to perform along with Sulmani Chimbetu, Peter Moyo, Soul Jah Love, Progress Chipfumo and other musicians, including Macheso himself, sent hearty congratulatory wishes to Macheso but apologised as a change in schedule has meant that he cannot be in the country for the Macheso gig.
The two musicians are planning an August bash, where Tuku will perform, as a continuation of Macheso's birthday celebrations.
A statement from Tuku Music said, "We wish Macheso all the best with the celebrations and apologise as we are unable to join him at Glamis due to unforseen circumstances. We are however, planning a show with Macheso and other musicians in August so that we can celebrate together."
Tuku, who flew into the country on Tuesday to perform at the European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, had to jet out shortly after the event.
The musician is currently in South Africa, en route to Mozambique and has a number of studio dates and meetings that have had to be rescheduled several times.
