Toxicology report stalls DJ Munya trial

DJ Munya's trial has stalled because of a pending toxicology and histology report.

The reports which looks at body tissue and organs through examination of the microscopical architecture and the impact of toxins on the deceased health, is expected from a South African pathologist.

Lucky Mawuwu, DJ Munya's lawyer, reminded the court of the previous magistrates directive to remove accused persons from remand if the state fails to furnish them with a trial date.

Prosecutor Sharon Mashavira produced letters from the Prosecutor-General's office and South Africa to prove that the State is still seized with the matter, and urged the court to remand the matter further to February 13.

Presiding Magistrate Milton Serima will rule on the issue today.
