Buju Banton released early and deported, rumors untrue

Jailed reggae superstar Buju Banton is reportedly still serving his sentence in an American prison despite rumors that he was released early and deported back to Jamaica.

According to Urban Islandz, Buju Banton's rep told the publication that: "These reports are false and the folks behind these websites are doing more harm than good."

"We have been getting numerous phone calls since yesterday and even from people seeking bookings and interviews so let me put this to rest, the news is false," said the rep.

In 2011 the Grammy-winning reggae singer was found guilty on cocaine conspiracy charges by a Florida jury.
