COMEDIAN Carl Joshua Ncube is devastated after his wife Nelsy had a miscarriage on Tuesday night, dashing hopes the couple had of having their first child.
The couple, which two weeks ago, celebrated their third anniversary, has been trying to have a baby for a while.
Last month, it seemed their prayers had been answered as an excited Ncube posted a pregnancy test showing the couple was expecting a baby on his Facebook fan page. Many congratulated the couple wishing them the best.
However on Tuesday, Ncube announced the sad news on social media networks, describing the day as a horrible one for his wife.
"We'd to rush Nelsy to the hospital today after her condition deteriorated. We unfortunately lost the baby but the doctors here in Kadoma have managed to get Nelsy stable," posted Ncube on his Facebook page.
"We hope you keep her in your prayers; it's been horrible for her today."
Thereafter messages of support and encouragement poured in from fellow comedians, friends and fans, with most saying they were praying for the couple to pull through the misfortune.
"So sorry for the loss. Deeply touched, no words can explain it. Hope Nelsy gets well soon," posted comedian, Doc Vikela.
A friend - Futurethuba Ndlovu posted: "Aww Carl, I'm really sorry for your loss. We were celebrating a few weeks and now it's this. All will be well. God will bless you again. Don't feel helpless, we're here for you as you always put a smile on our faces with your jokes."
Nelsy is still admitted at Eiffel Flats hospital in Kadoma.
A distraught Ncube said he and Nelsy were shattered as they have been trying to have a baby for a long time.
"We've been trying to have a baby for some time now and I'm devastated as Nelsy was 10 weeks into her pregnancy. It's difficult to handle, but as long as we've got each other, we'll pull through," said Ncube.
He said Nelsy fell ill on Tuesday afternoon, only for the condition to deteriorate in the evening, forcing him to rush her to hospital.
"When we got to hospital, she was bleeding and the doctors immediately admitted her upon discovering she had miscarried. They had to do a D&C procedure to clean her womb and are still monitoring her. "Fortunately, she's resting now though she's still trying to come to terms with the whole mishap. I'm praying that God sees us through this whole tragedy."
