Why is breaking a world record for comedy such a big deal for Zimbabwe - Carl Joshua Ncube

Ok so I applied to GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS to attempt an old comedy record of most comedy gigs in 7 days. The record is currently 30 gigs and GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS accepted my application to ATTEMPT to break this record between 17-23 August this year by performing 35 times in 35 venues in 12 cities in 4 countries in 7 days. So I thought to just let you know 10 REASONS why this WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT I am doing is such a big deal for Zimbabwe.
Motivation
You only have to take a look around to see how much we have lost or lose on a daily basis in this economy of ours. Feel Good Zimbabwe is using this WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT to awaken the sleeping giant within every Zimbabwean to take control and take charge of our own destiny. We entrust too much in people who haven't had our own interests at heart and this initiative is showing how we can find spaces to become whatever we wanted to become. Run for someone
I am preparing for this WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT by running to get in shape. But instead of just sharing my runs I want to use my social media platform to bring light to different charities that could benefit from the publicity my profile enjoys. I may not have the money to help but I will use my profile as a celebrity to influence those that can. WATCH CARL'S RUN FOR SOMEONE VIDEO
Comedy Career
In November I have a gruelling Asia tour, performing in a number of countries and in stand up comedy STAGE TIME is one of the best ways of getting better as a comedian. Therefore the more I per form the better this ASIA tour is going to be. I am not only performing in Asia I have performances in South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia and Botswana.
Content
Great opportunity to develop content that will get me on television. The record attempt is a great publicity engine to generate global interest in me as a comedian and also as Zimbabwe. More people are going to know more about our country, our artists, our music, our restaurants and bars our way of life and not just our POLITICS.
Zimbabwe Brands
Any brands working with us to help us #BreakTheWorldRecord will benefit from great publicity and bragging rights of being a WORLD RECORD BRAND. Whatever I drink, where I sleep, where I eat and what I watch by the time this campaign gains momentum will give great mileage to any brands involved. Everytime Carl Joshua Ncube is mentioned in the context of GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT or SUCCESS the spin off for any brand involved is awesome.
Bloggrz
I have started an initiative that will give local Zimbabwean blogs an opportunity to grow their readership online through this initiative. Some I have had the opportunity to redesign and will be mentoring young bloggers on how to get Zimbabwe's story out to an international audience. The beauty is that GUINNESS WORLD records will consider published articles and blogs in the world record process so already its not just Zimbabwe reading the blogs.
Health
There is a huge health element to this. I am motivated to get in good shape because of my diabetes. I am a type one diabetic and have to take insulin daily. I obviously want to be in good shape and to motivate millions of others to break personal records to get in shape. Running clubs are going to be central to my campaign as I intend on encouraging Zimbabweans wherever they are to run together and consider lifestyle change.
Comedy Nights
The BreakTheWorldRecord allows me to cement deals to establish comedy nights to increase existing spaces for new comedians to develop. The venues we have chosen for the ATTEMPT are venues that have hosted comedy nights before but we would like to establish more lasting relationships with the venues as well as expanding into other African countries to have comedy nights established under our brand.
Magazine
We have created a magazine that has the sole purpose of marketing all the amazing comedy and comedians around Africa to a global audience. Our first issue launched online and once we have reached a desired online reach we will proceed market by market to making sure other products will benefit from having such a magazine in place. The magazine will provide great media and publicity for the comedy sector in the continent and hopefully see an increase in movement around the continent or the world of African comedians. Brand ambassador
Zimbabwe has always benefitted from people who have raised the flag and marketed our wonderful country to the world. I am just trying to do my part in giving the world more reasons to love our people and what we are really about. I only know marketing and this is the way I feel I can market our country to the world. This world record attempt will bring attention to us and I am very sure of it well after 4000 tweets when this campaign is done we definately will reach a couple of million people.
