The second edition of the variety show previously dubbed Bulawayo's Got Talent, now Bulawayo's Amazing Talent, kicks off next month with an audition show at the Bulawayo Theatre on 28 April.

The event is being organised by Intwasa Festival KoBulawayo.

The variety show which proved popular and went on to unearth the amazing talents of Family Voices and Break Equation is now calling for aspiring and emerging talents in the fields of music, dance, poetry, juggling, comedy, and impersonations.

Intwasa Festival administrator Runyararo Cynthia Mutandi said those interested should register with their office for a chance to break into mainstream performing arts.

The winners of the variety show, apart from getting a cash prize, are guaranteed a performance slot during the official opening of Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo.

The official opening is a prime festival spot.

Last year's winners, Family Voices, were sensational during the opening of Intwasa and went on to perform at the Nama awards ceremony held recently in Harare.

Break Equation did well on numerous national events including the British Council organised Live Vibe.

The talents show is modelled around talent shows like America's Got Talent or the South African version of the same show.

"This is the era of talent shows and a lot of young and aspiring artistes have been discovered and ushered onto the bigger stage with ease by these shows," said Mutandi.

Bulawayo's Most Amazing Talents show is one of the build -up activities that will climax at the annual Intwasa Arts Festival.

"The show aims at discovering and nurturing new talent and also growing new audiences for the festival," she said.

Mutandi said as organisers of the talent show they promise a bigger and more exciting edition.

"The show will be recorded for possible airing on television. The talent show is supported by Hivos and the Royal Norwegian Embassy," she said.

The annual Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo will be held from 18 to 22 September under the theme Bulawayo Blooming.

Interested or aspiring artistes can call 09-63928 or visit Intwasa Offices at 403 LAPF House, Jason Moyo St and 8th Avenue for registration.
