Amakhosi Centre awarded tourist attraction status

One of Zimbabwe's acclaimed cultural centres, Amakhosi Cultural Centre, has been named a a tourist attraction site a move that would have financial spin off for Bulawayo.
Cont Mhlanga, a renowned artists and Amakhosi director says the centre is now a tourist attraction.
"Amakhosi Cultural centre has been certified to be a tourist and cultural attraction. We want to revive the centre in a new direction one which pushes our arts in the face of tourism," Mhlanga.
Amakhosi got the award from Zimbabwe Tourism Authority under the Tourism Act chapter 14:20.
He says the centre would come up with ambitious marketing drive for the centre.
"We are working with ZTA to train our own tour guides who will be escorting the tourists around the facility," he added.
The centre has produced top artists and plays that dwell on social issues.
