Gospel singer Derick Maphosa has released his second album entitled; "Sovereign God", aimed at reminding people that God is above and before all things and that He is in control.
Passion for spreading the word of God and love for gospel music has inspired the England-based artist into funding the release of his second album and he hopes to get a contract with a record company.
Speaking from his UK base, the 39-year-old preacher attributed his love for gospel music to his strong Christian background.
"Growing up in a Christian family played a big part in shaping my life. We always sang as a family and in church which helped me a lot. I also liked harmonizing artists such as Derrick Ndzimande and Vuyo Mokoena though Benjamin Dube is now my role model and I look up to him for inspiration," said Maphosa.
"Gospel is my life so there is nothing else I could possibly sing. I want to spread the gospel, it is my duty as a gospel singer and preacher to uplift, encourage and comfort people," he added.
He has just finished doing a video of the track Sovereign God, and preparing for a live DVD recording early next year.
