THE much-awaited Bulawayo Culture and Heritage Carnival parade, which had been slated for this Friday, has been postponed to next month.

Amakhosi Cultural Centre director Cont Mhlanga said they were forced to postpone the event to fine-tune preparations.

"It is only the dates that have changed. The programme will remain the same, exciting and intriguing," he said.

The one-day event is meant to celebrate Bulawayo's culture and heritage and also to market prime historical sites in the city.

A lot of artistes, musicians, dancers, poets and visual artists will perform and display on the day, and more artistes are being called to be part of the parade.

Main Street will be the main arena and every intersection on the street will be used as a stage.

Mhlanga said the parade will be different from the recently held carnival in Harare as the Bulawayo one is for launching a tourism vision and (promoting) historical sites in the city and to celebrate different cultures.
