BULAWAYO dance queen and songbird Sandra Ndebele-Sibindi will share the stage with Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts (Iyasa) at the Bulawayo Beerfest family show on Saturday.
The show has been divided into two segments with a family show starting in the morning followed by a night gig at a local hotel.
In an interview, Sandra said the show is meant to provide entertainment for the whole family and fans should come in their numbers to support the idea.
"We want everyone from small children to parents to come and have fun with us," she said.
Sandy, as Sandra is known to her fans, said such shows are hard to come by and it is up to the Bulawayo community to make this event "happen" by coming in large numbers.
"There will be plenty of activities that will keep fans entertained on the day. I will also be at my best because it has been long since I performed for my local fans. This is an opportunity for me to show them that I am still capable of giving a good performance," she said.
Sandy said fans should expect a well polished act from her which would be spiced with new dance routines and songs she has been working on.
The show promises nothing but good dance sessions from both Sandra and Iyasa. Both are known for their well polished energetic dance routines.
Sandy rose to fame with dance moves which literally swept fans off their feet. She released her debut album in 2003 titled Tshaya Tshaya and has gone on to release five more.
Iyasa director Nkululeko Dube said the group was raring to go and would give its best at the show in order to preserve its reputation.
"Iyasa is now perceived as boring by many people because they think our dance techniques have become routine but fans should come and see for themselves. We have new acts and we will be showcasing them for the first time, so fans should not miss this," he said.
Dube called on local fans to support such initiatives so that other promoters can take a leaf from them and bring more shows to the city.
"For a show to be successful it needs support and if fans come in their numbers then in future promoters will engage local artistes for more shows. This is how we can all build a sound entertainment sector in Bulawayo," he said.
