South African-based gospel group Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved are set to perform at a family gospel show that is billed for June 14 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, featuring local gospel artistes from Bulawayo.
In an interview, one of the artists who will be performing with the group, Bulawayo gospel-based musician Tholakele Ndlovu, said she was happy to be part of the line-up.
"I am happy that I will get to welcome Reverend Shongwe and his group to our city, seeing it is his first time to perform in the city," Ndlovu said.
"This also goes to show there is unity that is slowly being formed by local artistes and their South African counterparts," she said.
Ndlovu's manager and promoter for the show, Silvester Machingura, said the show was one not to be missed.
"We are expecting a bumper crowd for this show as most people have bought the tickets. The show is also meant to preach the gospel of God," he said.
A group from Assembles of God will curtain-raise for the South African-based artist while Ndlovu will welcome him as they have previously worked together in South Africa.
Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved are famous for making music that carries a message of repentance and they have 18 albums to their names.
