Members of the legendary kwaito group Big Nuz fear for their lives amidst threats of violence by angry Zimbabweans.

The group was set to perform in Zimbabwe tomorrow but have been receiving threats of a boycott and violence from Zimbabwean nationals.

Big Nuz is the latest South African group to receive threatening messages on social media. Late yesterday afternoon, Cassper Nyovest revealed that his life was also threatened ahead of his Zim tour next weekend.

These threats come in the wake of ongoing Xenophobic attacks in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, which have claimed the lives of at least five foreign nationals over the past two weeks.

Afrotainment's DJ Tira told Sowetan that it looks like the show will be cancelled, but they were still in talks with the organisers.

DJ Tira added that the group's lead member Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo, who has a fear of flying, will be driving to Zimbabwe, which puts his life more at risk.

Meanwhile, Winnie Khumalo and Ringo Madlingozi have also joined the list of SA celebrities to receive threats ahead of the Green Concert in Harare on 15 May. According to Sowetan, the organiser has been threatened, reportedly with calls to can the South African performers attending.
