Mnangagwa watches 'The Chinhoyi 7'

President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the burden of safeguarding and defending Zimbabwe and passing on the patriotism is the duty of every Zimbabwean as it was delivered through the blood and sacrifices of many sons and daughters of Zimbabwe.
The president was speaking after watching an epic movie of the Chinhoyi Battle entitled: 'The Chinhoyi 7' in Borrowdale this Tuesday morning together with members of his cabinet.
The two hours that cabinet set aside to watch the movie depicting the driving spirit behind those who sacrificed for the struggle and the long and difficult road that they travelled, was of special symbolism as the country prepared to commemorate and celebrate Zimbabwe's 38th independence anniversary.
While Zimbabweans celebrate the attainment of independence they don't forget to go down memory lane and pay homage to both living and fallen fighters who decided to take the enemy head on.
President Mnangagwa said many parents, brothers and sisters lost their lives for the love of an independent Zimbabwe and never again should we allow foreigners to occupy Zimbabwean land and urged everyone to defend and protect it with their all.
Chinhoyi 7 is a biopic film written and directed by Moses Matanda and produced by Tawanda Sarireni.
It is based on the famous Chinhoyi Battle that ignited the famous 2nd Chimurenga in 1966.
The two-hour film was also produced in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and Honde Valley TV.
It features both local and international actors who include Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave, poet Albert Nyathi, Eddie Sandifolo, Canadian duo Cyntia Stone and Greg Brown as well as British actor Julian Shaw.
