Former Big Brother (BB) contestant Vimbai Mutinhiri has landed a role in a six-part Nollywood film that includes several other former BB contestants.

Vimbai features in the film titled Finding Love alongside Luclay Misoya (2011 BB Amplified) and Babalwa 'Barbz' Mneno from the 2012 edition (Stargame).

Vimbai, who plays the role of a successful young professional called Zara, confirmed her new acting role in an interview with the Daily News yesterday.

"This is my first feature length film", said the overjoyed Vimbai.

"I do come from an acting background; I actually started my career on Studio 263 which opened doors for me to act in a short film for the Zimbabwe International Film Festival called Who is In Charge in 2002.

"But being in this production for Nollywood is extremely exciting and it was a fantastic experience. This movie is definitely a project close to my heart, and then of course Star Gist which was an answer to all my prayers," she said.

Nollywood is the biggest film industry in Africa and produces up to 500 - 1000 a year and earns about $250 million per year, employing thousands of people.

The enterprising model said she was happy to be reunited with other ex-Big Brother contestants.

"Acting with other Big Brother contestants was very surreal. I knew both Luclay and Barbz before Big Brother so it was great to be able to look at our journeys and compare notes.

"It's also great to be in a work environment with people who fully understand the unique experience that is Big Brother.

Vimbai is hopeful that she will get more acting opportunities.

"If I come across interesting scripts I will definitely act. But I'm more interested in working with producers and directors who can stretch me, and roles that will challenge me," she said.

The budding actor says she owes her success to her appearance on Big Brother which has helped her interact with different people without any struggles.

"Big Brother opened an entire world of opportunity for me, and it was the exact kind of experience I needed at that time for my personal character growth.

"It taught me to appreciate every human being, and where they are coming from without judging. It taught me that we stand to learn something from every single human being we encounter in life, if only we humble ourselves enough," she said.

Appearance on Big Brother in 2011 unlocked several doors for the vivacious actor. She is now a presenter of Star Gist, an Africa Magic Entertainment's showbiz show.

Soon after she emerged from the Big Brother house Vimbai released a song Summer of Love that received considerable airplay on the local radio stations.
