A Zimbabwean gospel music group with members based at home and the UK has launched an album whose title track has been translated into ten languages.
The group, Royal Destiny, recently released its fifth album titled Toda LeCha Elohim (Hebrew for thank you Lord). The title track was translated into nine African languages, Ndebele (Siyabonga Baba), Shona (Tinotenda Baba), Twi-Ghana (Medase), Swahili (Ewurade Asante Mungu) Sisotho (Ke a lebuha Modimo), Yoruba-Nigeria (Eshe Oluwa), Venda (Ndo Livhuwa Mudimo), Tonga (Tulwalumba Leza), Nyanja (Zikomo Mulungu). The song was also translated into Portuguese - Obrigado Senhor.
The group was founded at Canterbury Kent in the United Kingdom in recent years. Co-founder Maria Rusike said with the global world shrinking in terms of technology Royal Destiny decided to expand their horizon.
"We are not just a gospel group but a sanctuary for individuals who are hungry and thirsty to serve and fulfill their purpose using their God given gifts and talents. Over the years we noticed that the music industry can be very challenging for all artistes and that many can be easily discouraged in many ways.
"In 2015 we established our mentorship department where we nurture talent and support each other to grow spiritually in accordance with the word of God which is established in Matthew 6 verse 63 that when we seek first God's kingdom He will establish all that concerns us. We have also established a charity department where we support orphans mainly from Zimbabwe at the moment. We work jointly with other charitable organisations such as Ahava Love Ministries in the UK," said Rusike.
Rusike said the title track came as an inspiration from Bob Ivan Harrison Ndlovu who is part of Royal Destiny as a mentor and is based in America.
"One day he posted in our WhatsApp group that he was hearing a song, Thank You Lord in Hebrew, and on that very day Nonkumbulo, another member, had woken up with a tune and the dream was coming to her for the second time.
"Nonkumbulo attributes this to the working of the Holy Spirit. She said when she started working on the song lyrics just flowed. She said the only effort she made was to source the translations as she felt the song needed to be done and to be heard by many."
The album was launched on Good Friday as a remembrance to Jesus Christ for the completed work of the Cross.
"Had it not been for the love of God the father to send His only begotten son to be condemned and crucified we would never have had a chance to receive salvation. Today we rest in knowing that Jesus Christ rose again and conquered the grave and that through Him we have the hope and promise of resurrection after death as even in trials and tribulations we know that we are overcomers though Jesus Christ who has promised never to leave nor forsake us."
The album is comprised of praise and worship songs and caters for the young and the old.
"We are giving away for free the album title track and several other songs from the album. We hope that the album will be a blessing to you as it has been a blessing to us in making it.
