YOUNG Bulawayo hip-hop artiste Thando "Kush Kush" Khanye is looking for assistance to release an album which he hopes will put him on the entertainment industry map.

Khanye has been trying to release an album over the last year but his efforts have come to nothing as the exorbitant costs of studio time have prevented his dream from becoming a reality.

Khanye said that it was hard for young, up-and- coming self-funded artistes to make an impact in the industry as there were many financial obstacles in their way.

"It is very hard to break into the industry without any financial help because the cost of everything is very high which is why I am asking for help from well wishers," said Khanye.

He said he had released some singles of his own while doing remixes of popular international songs which were released online and were also circulating among young hip-hop lovers in the city.

"I have done tracks which I have distributed around the city and online. I have done remixes of popular hip-hop acts like Lil Wayne and Rick Ross," said Khanye.

He said all that they needed as youthful artistes was encouragement and a platform where they would be allowed to realise their dreams as without the help of the community they could not go far.
