CELEBRATED Afro-fusion group Mokoomba on Saturday left the country for a tour of 14 countries.
The tour, which will include shows in countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, United Kingdom, Morocco, Norway, Algeria, Denmark, Hungary, Ireland and Finland, among others, will see the group staging 33 concerts at various festivals.
Mokoomba manager Marcus Gora said they were excited to represent the country on the international scene.
"Mokoomba, pumped up by their performance at Harare International Festival of Arts alongside Baaba Maal, are excited to be embarking on a tour organised by international management Zig Zag World which will see them perform a total of 33 concerts in 14 countries", he said.
The group left the country on a high note after delivering a spectacular performance at Book Café in a farewell gig that featured Mathius Julius and Chikwata 263 on Friday.
Gora said the tour was important to the group because they would enhance their performances at festivals.
"The tour is very important for us. The band will be performing at some of Europe's biggest festivals like Roskilde, Sziget Festival, Paleo Festival and WOMAD UK to mention a few and they have been working hard to be in the best shape."
Mokoomba is celebrated across the world, having toured over 30 countries performing at various internationally acclaimed festivals.
