AFTER topping the charts with his song Ndinonyara for the better part of last year, award-winning musician Enock Guni, aka Nox, seems determined to keep the exceptional momentum.
His newly-released song titled Kupenga Kuti Pee has gone viral. Barely two weeks after its release, the track has already been downloaded close to 7 000 times on his Reverberation site and has had twice as many plays on the same site. The song is on a Zim-dancehall tip and introduces a brand new side of Nox, proving his versatility.
The title, which relates to insanity, is catchy and the beat captivating. The lyrics are well-crafted and also comic.
He sings quoting popular lines from fellow musicians like Winky D, Oliver Mtukudzi, Sulumani Chimbetu, Trevor Dongo, Jah Prayzah and Ngoni Kambarami.
Its quality is enhanced by talented producer Oskido's creative hand.
"The song is one of the final singles that I am releasing from my upcoming album, Eighth Wonder. I honestly did not expect to receive such a huge and overwhelming feedback from the song, way before radio release," said Nox. He said he was overwhelmed by the way the track had gone viral on various sites including Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp.
Nox said he hoped the song would be able to reach the levels that Ndinonyara had set for an amazingly long period and that his forthcoming album would also have great appeal to listeners.
"It's been on all radio stations since Monday and the rest of the album will be released at the end of August," he said.
Nox said Eighth Wonder had 14 powerful tracks which were produced by seven different producers including MacDonald "Macdee" Chidavaenzi, Russell "Russo" Chiradza, GTbeats and the late TBA the Playboy.
