Chimbetu's widow buried

The widow late Dendera musician and national hero, Simon Chimbetu, Angela was buried at Warren Hills cemetery in Harare on Monday.

The 39 year old died on Saturday afternoon after more than a week of admission at Chitungwiza General Hospital.

Hundreds of mourners who included the patron of the Zimbabwe Union of Musicians, Webster Shamu, family members, musicians and music promoters gathered at Warren Hills cemetery to bid farewell to Angela.

Mourners described the Angela as a strong woman who dedicated her time to look after the Chimbetu siblings even after the death of her husband, Simon.

Uncle to the Chimbetus, Allan said Angela's death was a big blow to the family, describing her as a pillar of strength to the family.
Angela had been in and out of hospital in recent weeks as a result of high blood pressure.

Her husband, Simon died in 2005 and was declared a provincial hero.

Angela is survived by one son, Kudzi, several step daughters, step sons and grand children from Chimbetu's earlier marriage.
