Nyaradzo to bury artistes

Bulawayo artistes have entered into a partnership with Nyaradzo Funeral Assurance Company  that has seen the introduction of a funeral policy specially designed for entertainers.

Speaking at Nyaradzo Funeral Parlour on Friday, Nhimbe Trust Executive Director, Joshua Nyapimbi welcomed the development and expressed his delight in the attendance of artists at the meeting.

Zimbabwe Actors Equity President, Sarah Mpofu-Sibanda described the funeral policy as a relief to the arts industry.

"Since the time of dollarization we as artists have been trying to get such a policy to cover us to no solid response, we are happy that Nyaradzo Funeral Assurance Company has finally given this to us, which will be a relief to many artists and will benefit us as a whole," Mpofu said.

The meeting was attended by 40 artists who included poets, actors, actresses, models, hair dressers and musicians.

The funeral policy covers an unlimited number of adults, such as the principal member, spouse, parents, in-laws and any other as well as an unlimited number of artists own children below the age of 23. It states that the children are covered for free.

The premiums paid range from the type of casket, which are put in different plans.

The cover commences after a waiting period of 90 days and is subject to payment of the required premiums.

On the death of the principal member any of the remaining lives assured may take over the policy and continue to pay premiums.
