Never tempter with an entertainment thirsty crowd or else you will end up like Martin Sibanda of Ndolwane Supersounds who got a sound beating from the crowd.

Revellers at Nketa 8 beer garden were pissed off after the musician delayed his stage act by 3 hours. At that time probably most had downed their night's quarter of the wise waters, hence there was nothing more to be apologetic for.

Ndolwane Super Sounds leader, Martin Sibanda, was on Saturday assaulted by revelers after he and his band failed to perform as per advertised time.

"We had been waiting for them to go on stage from as early as 5 PM. We only saw them on stage at 9PM and we were by then wasted. When they went on stage there was chaos- people were angry, throwing missiles on stage. At that point they fled from the stage," said a person who attended the show.

It turns out trouble hard started brewing earlier when the show organisers instructed revellers to go out of the pub to come back inside through paying their cover charger.

"The situation got even worse when all patrons inside were told to go outside and pay to enter. That did not go down well with the patrons as they started demanding their monies which they had been buying drinks since afternoon.

"However, sensing riotous situation the owners quickly allowed those inside to remain inside while those outside pay to enter," said the source.

It is reported Sibanda's changing of some of the songs' original lyrics to express his anger with the crowd proved to be the proverbial last straw which broke the Carmel's back as the crowd brought the show to a premature end.

"During the performance Sibanda changed the lyrics of the song titled to bantu beZimbabwe lingidanisile ngalindaba that didn't go down well with the crowd who invaded the stage baying for Sibanda's blood.

"However he was saved from the wrath of the crowd by security personnel who scurried him off the stage to safety."

Ndolwane Super Sounds manager Thandazani Moyo confirmed that there was a fracas but denied its alleged magnitude.

"There was a small misunderstanding but that's a small issue and did not even involve the police," said Moyo.
