Sungura musician Alick Macheso's 10th album, Tsoka Dzerwendo sold more than 100 000 CDs on Monday in Harare.

Each CD copy was sold for $1 but some fans said they could have paid more.

His six-track album, which took him three years to compile  was recorded at Alema Studios with the assistance of renowned producer, Bothwell Nyamhondera.

The Orchestra Mberikwazo manager, Lucky Macheso said they are under pressure to produce 100 000 copies today.

"We don't have an exact number at the moment but from the collection done so far, we have breached the 100 000 mark and are failing to meet demand.

"We are busy to try and avail as many as 100 000 copies tomorrow because we have been receiving numerous calls from our sales teams across the country saying they are running out of stock,".

The musician, spent greater part of Monday on the streets monitoring the sales.

"I was on the ground during the afternoon and the fans were willing to buy more than one CD.

"Someone told me that he would stand by me till the end and buying my music and original CDs is one such way of showing that support.

"This is encouraging to all musicians because it shows there is future in music if we get our act together and I am going to embark on a countrywide tour to promote this album".
