Dumie Nyongola
HIGH-ridding Bulawayo gospel musician Dumisani Nkomo affectionately in entertainment circles as Dumie is set to release a sizzling gospel album to be launched in neighboring South Africa next in June.
After debuting with his solo album 'African Languages' which features the hit track Ngempela/Chokwadi in 2013, the vivacious singer has been a crowd puller in many local shows hence his upcoming album will set a tone for his flourishing career in music.
In an interview with Bulawayo24.com this week, the impresario hinted that the album will be launched in South Africa but warned that the collection will only be sold online to curb piracy. His management company, Ngonyama Music, who are based in the United Kingdom, are still deliberating on this.
Just like many musicians the world over, Dumie has been a victim of piracy, which has seen many musicians toiling for nothing with their music being sold in black markets, or downloaded freely in open source websites.
The jovial muso releaved to our correspondent that fans must expect a scorcher as he has been working on the album for some time and believes that he will unleash what the fans expect.
"My next album is now ready and would be out in a month," Dumie revealed during an exclusive interview in Bulawayo.
"However, it would be sold online only to guard against piracy. Piracy is killing the industry, but my management may distribute it in selected countries''.
Just like the previous album, Dumie said his latest offering will be sung in Ndebele, Sotho , Xhoxa and Shona.
"….and the genre is a combination of Jazz, Afro Pop and a dose of Maskandi," he said.
"This album is unique from the previous one. It has better instruments, which shows my growth in the music industry. 2 artists, in thr Ngonyama stable, one based in the UK and the other at KZN, South Africa, will feature songs in the album in Shona and Zulu.
‘The songs are reflections on my personal life. One of the songs Jehovah Ungixolele simply means that I am not a perfect person hence, I ask God to forgive me".
The album whose theme borders around God's mercy will be turned into video songs after the lunch, at least according to the musician.
Dumie boasts of more than a decade in the music industry and has worked with mature artistes such as Elias Musakwa, Thobekile, Black Face and Mandasi, a backing vocalist for South African gospel diva Debrorah Fraser. He is now under new management which has pushed up his music production funding. Dumie's music can be downloaded from www.beats98.com.
