Australia-based Zimbabwean reggae musician Desire Sibanda is set to sign a recording deal with Jamaican VP Records in a bid to promote music relations between the countries and his career. VP Records is a major force in the reggae music industry as it has housed global superstars such as Sean Paul, Gyptian, Elephant Man, Beres Hammond, Tanya Stephens, Lady Saw, I-Wayne and Morgan Heritage among others.

Sibanda, affectionately known as Dizzy Dee in the music circles, said the signing of the deal means a lot to him as this would be the biggest achievement for Zimbabwe and the music industry at large.

"Music is my passion and this is a dream come true for me. I am looking forward to signing with VP Records. The deal is almost done and this will be a milestone for Zimbabwe ahead of the release of my new album, which is scheduled to be launched end of year. I have been in Australia for a decade as a singer, songwriter, club DJ and producer. As someone who is overseas the Zimbabwean market is hard to penetrate," he said.

Dizzy Dee has worked with some local and international great acts.

"I have got a song with Beniton of Jamaica and the video song has been well received. I worked with Torch in 2014 and our song 'Never See We Fading' reached position two on iTunes reggae charts. I did several riddim compilations featuring Anthony B, Serani, Busy Signal, Gappy Banks and Cecile among others. I worked with Zimbabwean acts who include Seh Calaz, Freeman, Shinsoman, Suluman Chimbetu, Killer T and Soul Jah Love when they toured Australia," he said.

He said he was happy with how the Zimbabwean music is doing.

"I would love to collaborate with Oskid and we are already discussing the issue. Internationally I would love to work with Konshens and Damian Marley among others. I have a track that I am working on called 'Mai Vevana' produced by Jusa Dementor who is well known for producing the hit wonder 'Mukoko' by Tytan and Ammara Brown," he said.

Born in 1985 in Triangle, Dizzy Dee said was inspired by Oliver Mtukudzi and Sizzla Kalonji.

"I plan on returning home for a visit and setting up a recording studio in my hometown of Triangle," he said.
