Zimbabwe born Dj makes wave in South Africa

Ras Cal Dj whose real name is Calvin Moyo is a house Dj to be reckoned with. He grew up in the humble streets of Johannesburg.He now resides in the CBD of johannesburg to persue his career professionally and make his name familiar amongst the upcoming great Deep and Afro House Dj of our time. It has taken determination,displine and perseverance to make a name for himself. His more of a Dj than a producer.

Some may know him from the big changing life competition In South Africa where he took part in the Resquare Dj Knock Out Competition where he became a semi finalist. He is a founder of Ras Calitary Entertainment. He is also empowering other Djs by giving them platform through his events company Ras Calitary Entertainment which organises/host events and hires Djs and artists.

Ras Cal says his been inspired by the likes of Black Coffee,Culoe De Song,Oskido,Jazzuelle and Vinny Da Vince to mention a few.He's been always a house Dj from day one.His name Ras Cal was given by his uncle in the early 2000s.Ras Cal, moved from being a bedroom dj to a professional one, he has learnt to earn a living from his passion and talent.

Ras Cal started collecting house music cassettes at an early teens and his djing career at the age 16 when he used to get slots on afternoon students sessions.He went professional on year 2012 where he started to take his career serious.He has mixes playing on World Dance Online Radio got some mixes playing on Eldos fm and a lot of online radio stations.

He would like to encourage all aspiring Djs to respect,reasearch and work on their craft.They need to know that talent isn't everthing. I would also like to advice them to stay away from the girls, and drugs. His message for upcoming Djs was "Dear Dj not everyone will like you,even those who dont know you hate you for nothing and even those who think they have made it in this industry.Never give be open minded focus and respect your craft.Try to better yourself by any chance than to critisize others

When  asked if he was single our fellow Dj laughed and said his lady is his work,but his open to someone who understands his his night life profession.

So Ras Cal can't wait to share his skills and talent with the whole of South Africa and hoping to take his career continentally and then internationally……...thanks to Djs like Black Coffee,Euphonik,Fresh and his talented guy guy Rabs Vhafuwi for paving the way to show that everything is possible if you believed in yourself despite the background you come from.

We asked him if he has his personal manager he said no "I do everything myself Iam my own manager If it happens I get one he has to have something better to offer because Iam Ras Calitary Entertainment myself".He mentioned that he has a hip pop artist called Kid Lyta signed to Ras Calitary Entertainment and people should check out the kid's work its on another level.He mention that his brother Dj Young that he's part of Ras Calitary Entertainment also.

Apart from Djing Ras Cal is a event organiser and a promoter.He has 3 annuals shows that he always hosts namely April Fest Annual Party ,Youth Day Party and Spring Party.The projects that his working on right now includes Launching a Sunday Breeze at News Cafe Northriding and its gonna be happening every Sunday from 12pm till 6pm he said laughing "who said people can't turn up during the day on a Sunday.

He host Dance Fridays at La Musa Lounge and Kulcher Cafe all In the Maboneng Precinct.In September his doing a house music tour outside South Africa, and radio deals he wouldnt go into detail about it thou.On September her friend Toshi is launching her album Ubuhle bendalo which will be instores soon thats one of the biggest projects that he's gonna be working on jus to mention a few but there are a lot coming.
