JOHANNESBURG- The Bulawayo-based isicathamiya group will launch their newest 13 track album in Johannesburg on 24 September at Victory Theatre (former Umoja) from 6pm to 10pm. Tickets are going for R100,00 and R20,00 parking.

The group has been in the industry for the past 15 years, and with such experience in representing themselves in top-notch stages, the audience in Joburg expect nothing less of fireworks.

Switchbord caught up with Christian Sibanda, the manager of the imbube group who is currently  running the errands in Joburg and making sure all will be executed smoothly on the day of the event.  "The rehearsals are meticulous as the group aims to imprint the last memory to all those who will attend," he said.

"We are now 15 years in the music industry and we ought to be able to stand alone and deliver the performance of the highest calibre," Sibanda continued.

Impumelelo Shining Stars has toured several countries in Africa and the last time there were here in Johannesburg in 2015 they left the audiences in stitches. This group has been dubbed 'Zimbabwean Black Mambazo' and the tag is something the manager is proud of, "We have a very good relationship with LadySmith Black Mambazo, which led to composing a song especially for them just to show gratitude. There was a time when our group stayed with reverend Joseph Tshabalala for about three weeks . He felt that there were great things in store for the group, He even prayed for us and the toast of our visit was when he by said to us "you are young Black Mambazo," Sibanda added.

The album "Amaqhinga Aphelile," was recorded under the guidance of Black Mambazo and Joseph Tshabalala composed one of the tracks.

"Being recognised by the world's renowned group like Mambazo, speaks volumes to us.  We can afford to be flippant. We always set the bar high. We have also worked with Linderman who also repeated the words of Joseph Tshabalala who said we are the next group after Black Mambazo, according to his studio packing order.

Sibanda also confirmed that amongst the guests, Black Mambazo will be represented alongside Linderman who shall also give a short speech.

The event's news has spread like veld fire and "We are already getting phone calls from people in Polokwane and Durban asking about the CD. We caught the interest of SABC, Which we did a short interview with them ," Sibanda told Switchbod.

Apparently, the group is enjoying to tap into the depth of its manager who has seen it all in acapella . Sibanda rose from the ranks of  Imbube group 'The Bright Star' hailing  from Godlwayo. With the group, he toured many countries in Europe shortly before economically oriented migration hit the group.

From there "I become Jeys Marabini's manager," and then decided to be an entrepreneur in South Africa. The man says he can be separated from the group despite that the group is based in Bulawayo, " despite all hardships, I am the one knitting the event together . There is no sponsor or promoter involved."

Impumelelo will leave Bulawayo on the 18th of September and they will visit various places making a public appearance to their fans. All nine members of the group are coming.
