Winner of the Sound of the Future Award at Victors Awards held in Harare,Alexio Kawara has promised to work keep on working harder in order to do more in his music career. The awards were organised by pastor Victor Kambasha from Harare who was celebrating his birthday.
In an interview, Kawara said he felt honoured when he was awarded in the Sound of the Future category.
"I never thought I was going to be awarded on Tuesday, but surprisingly my fans nominated me," he said.
Kawara said his nomination by his fans to win an award was a challenge to him to work even more harder. "I am happy that I won, but fans in another way challenged me to work more harder and produce better music, that will make them happy," he said.
Kawara said winning encouraged him to remain in music as some of the guys that he worked with have left the industry for different reasons.
"If we continue having such awards, we will be more encouraged to continue soldiering on in the music industry," he said.
Kawara said music has always been a part of him and that is the only way that he has been able to express himself.
"I have been a singer for a long time and that has been my only tool of expressing myself, so this award is a challenge meant to encourage me to continue doing well," he said.
Kawara said so far he has recorded five albums that have been successful from the time he got into the music industry early 2000. "I have recorded five albums so far and I am happy to say people have shown me that I have future in the music industry.
"I have released my latest album called Tose and people have really enjoyed some of the songs for the 13-track-album," he said.
Kawara said he would be working on videos for his latest album and the project would be complete some time next year. He said he is working on having songs from all his projects on video. "I am already
selecting some of the songs that I will turn into videos. "Fans should look forward to something next year."
