Durban - A controversial song about suspended ANCYL president Julius Malema is flying off the shelves in Durban music stores, Isolezwe reported on Thursday.

"The first batch of CDs that we ordered was sold out unexpectedly in less than three weeks. We have placed another order," Jet Music store's Sihle Mbanjwa was quoted as saying in the newspaper.

Izingane Zoma, a maskandi group, wrote a song accusing Malema of criticising the ANC leadership and of being uncontrollable.

According to Isolezwe, people were buying the CD because they wanted to listen to the song about Malema called uMalema.

Other music stores had placed the CD in the latest albums section.

The same group released a hit song about President Jacob Zuma before he was elected ANC president in 2007.

In the song, called Msholozi, Zuma's clan name, the group calls for him to be elected president and for corruption charges against him to be dropped.
