South African police have warned Zimbabweans against unruly behaviour following riotous scenes at an Alick Macheso concert here recently.
"Entertainment must remain entertainment. No one has a right to victimise peace loving citizens," said Brigadier Lindela Mashigo.
Angry Zimbabweans who wanted free entry into the show hurled missiles at the doors and a number of fans were seriously injured when violence broke out.
The show had to be stopped for about 30 minutes. Show organiser, Siphiwe Sibiya of show-offs Promotions reprimanded revelers for misbehaving.
"The venue owners assured us that they had informed the police who were supposed to maintain a presence but that did not happen," said Sibiya.
She accused show goers of waiting until the show started before jostling to get into the venue.
