SOUTH AFRICAN singing sensation Zahara, who seems to have fallen in love with Zimbabwe, makes a welcome return to Harare for another date with superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and Alexio Kawara.

Organised by CellOne, a leading electronics supplier, and music promoter Chris Musabayana, the show will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre on March 8.

Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, hails from Cape Town and was born on November 9, 1987. She has proved to be the biggest female artiste South Africa has seen since the demise of Brenda Fassie.

The singer has in the past staged memorable shows in Harare, Bulawayo and recently in Victoria Falls.

Zahara made history when her debut album "Loliwe" sold over 200 000 copies in South Africa alone. The only other female artiste to achieve such a feat in South Africa in recent years was Fassie.

Unlike Fassie, who was considered to be wild and outrageous with very outspoken views about life in the townships, Zahara enjoys popularity with more gentle soulful songs such as "Lengoma", "Umthwalo", "Incwadi Encane", "Thekwana" and the album title track "Loliwe."

While Zahara will be the star attraction, our own Mtukudzi will provide the Zimbabwean flair and experience needed on shows of such magnitude.

The veteran singer has seen it all in music and has proved to be a fatherly figure to upcoming artistes.

Alexio Kawara has continued to grow and seems to have struck the right chord with mature sound.

The youthful "Shaina" hitmaker has evolved from being an urban grooves artiste who use backtracks to a fully fledged musician with a live band. Given such a stellar line-up, the show promises to be a thriller.
