The old adage 'hard work pays', is ever so true with regards to the Royal Destiny, which its accolades are firmly anchored on unrelenting dedication and undoubtedly from the love of what they do. Last year the Royal Destiny in their live recording concert promised fire-works and they delivered just that. "This year we promise the same, more fire-works and maybe some musical bombs as well" said Maria in her usual jovial mood.
Canterbury is surely set to come alive on the 23rd August 2014 when the Royal Destiny, a locally based African Gospel Choir, stages their 2nd Live Recording Summer Concert at The Gilbenkian Theatre - Univerity of Kent.
The Royal Destiny is an African gospel choir based in Kent, their foremost calling is witnessed through their inspirational songs of praise and worship. The group however has members all around the country. The Royal Destiny is generally known for its trademark colourful African traditional costumes. They started singing as a unit in 2009 and they have released 3 successful albums. The 4th album which comprises all the songs that were recorded live at St Andrews Church in Canterbury last year is set to be launched on the day of the concert. Their spokesperson Mrs Maria Rusike said "we also aim to use our annual concerts to fundraise for our mission work with Ahava Love Charity. A percentage from the purchase of this album is set to support the work we are doing supporting Aids Orphans in Zimbabwe and other impoverished countries". The Royal Destiny is increasingly becoming popular due to its charitable-stance and approach to life.
The Royal Destiny has made a name for itself, with their sweet blend of accapella harmonies which are complimented by lively dances and superb percussion rhythms. They manage to fuse their accapella music with a rich Southern African Contemporary gospel sound which is sure to engage diverse audiences including Christians and non Christians. So bring your dancing shoes. The exuberance and energy exuded during their performances is electrifying and transfixes the audience in a mesmeric fashion only to explode in dance as if the music is flowing through the veins.
When it comes to worship music Royal Destiny are privileged to be led by the anointed worshipper Minister Charles Mudamburi who is a gifted and dynamic worshipper. His unique voice brings in a dynamic and rich blend of intimate worship and prophetic ministry that is bound to captivate the worshippers into His presence any time.
This year's concert is themed 'All Things are possible'. "The theme is set to encourage individuals that although we are challenged in our everyday lives if we believe and have faith all things are possible". Explained Maria
The Royal Destiny will be supported by other local artistes including the remarkable Sister Shola Sajowa Victor from Nigeria. Her unique ministry has taken her to minister on various platforms in and around the UK and countries like , Ireland, Geneva, Boras etc. Her aim is always to give Him the best worship experience . In her own words she says "I love to touch His heart, I love to make Him smile. I love to make Him dance. I love to see people free in God's presence, boldly entering into the holy of holies to have a behind the veil experience with the loving Father who grants us access by the blood of the lamb".
The other confirmed artist currently is Chris Kusema the band leader of Khamani clan. With Chris Kusema's energies in the house the audience is set for a time of dancing.
