The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has acquired a state of the art 12 channel audio outside broadcast (OB) van worth more than $1 million.

The OB van bought from China is expected to improve the institution's radio broadcasting.

The state of the art equipment arrived at Pockets Hill this Thursday.

The ZBC Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Happison Muchechetere said the equipment was bought by the company with the help of partners.

He said the arrival of the equipment will transform the national broadcaster's radio transmission.

ZBC General Manager Radio Services, Allan Chiweshe said the van is digital with 12 channels which will play an important role in the quality of voices during live broadcasts.

ZBC Head of Engineering, Shadreck Mupeni said the equipment boasts of various components that enable the effective use of the OB van.

Unlike the television OB van which the national broadcaster acquired on a government to government agreement between Zimbabwe and China, money to buy the audio OB van was sourced by ZBC with the help of partners.
