The Korean Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Yong-kyu Kwon has handed over television programmes to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) which are set to give viewers a wide selection of entertainment.
Speaking after receiving the programmes, the ZBC Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Allan Chiweshe, said this year marks 20 years of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and the government of Zimbabwe, and ZBC in particular.
Mr Chiweshe further noted that the programmes will go a long way in improving content quality on ZBC TV.
"We want to express our gratitude to the Republic of Korea and your embassy for the blossoming relationship that we enjoy and that has enabled the ZBC to receive television programmes that have contributed to the improvement in the quality of our TV programming," said Mr Chiweshe.
Speaking in an interview with the ZBC News, the Korean envoy Mr Yong-kyu Kwon said the two countries continue to enjoy bilateral relations, adding that in future they look forward to receiving programmes from ZBC TV to be shown on Korean television to promote cultural exchange between the two nations.
"We are really grateful with the cooperation you have shown us and we expect in future ZBC will give us programmes that will be shown to the Korean people and will enhance cultural exchange between the two countries," Mr Kwon said.
This is not the first time Zimbabwe has received programmes from the Republic of Korea.
The Jewel in the Korean Palace, Painter of the Wind and Sad Love Story are some of the series that proved to be a hit with millions of ZBC TV viewers.
