Durban - Twenty people were injured when a train derailed after it hit a car near Reunion Station, Isipingo in Durban, paramedics said on Thursday.
"It is believed the car was driving on the road above the bridge when the driver lost control and the car pushed through the railing, went off the bridge and landed on the train track," Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said.
The train could not stop in time, hit the car and derailed. Twenty people, including the driver of the car, were treated for minor injuries.
