SA woman caught trying to smuggle drugs through a Nigerian airport

A South African woman, Nene Fikile Happy-Girl, on Saturday tested positive of drug ingestion by the 3D scanner at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria.
Trouble started for the 38-year-old single mother at the departure hall of the airport when she couldn't bear pains in her stomach obviously caused by the narcotic drugs she ingested in her stomach.
The airport commander of the Ndlea, Hamza Umar explained that the lady "held her stomach and beckoned on security officials demanding to see a doctor. Immediately, she was taken for scan and confirmed positive for narcotic ingestion."
And with close monitoring she excreted 55 wraps of methamphetamine weighing 700 grammes.
The Ndlea officials said preliminary findings showed that the lady travelled to Malaysia from South Africa. And while in Malaysia, she was recruited to smuggle drugs from cotonou in Benin Republic where she ingested the hard drug.
Nene confessed that her desire to give her 19-year-old daughter a better life made her to fall for the baits of the drug dealers who recruited her in Malaysia. She also pleaded with the authority saying it was her first outing.
The Ndlea officials told journalists that the agency would work with the West Africa Joint Operations (Wajo) to fish out the cartels that sponsored the lady.
