Prof Jonathan Moyo slams media for spreading falsehoods

Professor Jonathan Moyo has castigated some sections of the media for deliberately fabricating stories that seek to tarnish the image of the Zanu-PF leader Robert Mugabe.
This comes against a background where a local independent daily paper ran a story alleging that Mugabe was in a fix after failing to attend a burial ceremony for the late Democratic People's Republic of Korea leader, Kim Jong il due to challenges faced by Air Zimbabwe.
Moyo said in as much as the media is advocating for self regulation, it is an abuse of such privileges to deliberately practice spin journalism aiming to tarnish the image of the Head of State.
