Bingu wa Mutharika buried in Malawi

The former President of Malawi Bingu wa Mutharika has been laid to rest at Mpumulo Wabata Shrine at his farm in Cholo District, Malawi.
Several heads of state and government including President Robert Mugabe, Namibian President Hipikefunye Pohamba, Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania and Mwai Kibaki of Kenya joined thousands of Malawians at Ndata farm, to pay their last respects to the late Malawian President. Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai also attended the burial.
South Africa and Zambia were represented by their vice presidents.
The Malawian President Joyce Banda has declared today a public holiday to allow Malawians to give a befitting farewell to their former President.
The funeral procession started with several heads of state viewing the body of Professor Mutharika at his farm house.
