A minor earthquake hit Swaziland on Sunday night at exactly 8:58pm.

According to 'The Swazi Observer' citizens called their offices verifying if the quake was experienced in other parts of the country.

Some terrified people are said to have ran out of their houses in fear that they might fall on them.

There was no immediate comment from weather experts. However, an independent source said it would be an exaggeration to say it was an earthquake.

"I think it was tremor, something which  is less lethal than an earthquake," he told The Swazi Observer.

Almost all parts of the country were affected by the slight movement of the earth. There were no reported casualties.
