Man cuts off penis in a botched suicide attempt

A 20 year old man at Nkawie-Kubin, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region has cut off his penis in a bizarre suicide attempt.
Ernest Obeng is alleged to have earlier attempted committing suicide by hanging but relatives intervened. He later slashed off his own penis with a knife just when his brother went inside to get help from an uncle. Ernest was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital where he is receiving treatment.
