South Africa - The trial of "Facebook rapist" Thabo Bester is expected to commence in the Western Cape High Court today (Monday), Sapa reported.
In May, the State and Bester's defence failed to reach an agreement on a plea and sentencing agreement.
Bester is accused of killing 26-year-old Nomfundo Tyulu in Milnerton, Cape Town, in September. She was found stabbed in the chest in a room at a B&B.
Bester was previously sentenced to 50 years in prison for raping and robbing two women.
He was sentenced to 15 years in jail on each count of rape and 15 years on each count of robbery. Five years of each robbery was suspended.
Bester was dubbed the "Facebook rapist" as he used the social networking site to lure women to meet him.
He would meet with the women after claiming that international modelling scouts were interested in them.
Armed with a knife, he then raped and robbed them.
