GUNMEN believed to be Somali militants have killed six people in an attack on police posts near Kenya's border with Somalia.
Inspector General David Kimaiyo says two of the victims in the Saturday night attack were Kenyan police officers and six more are missing.
He says the bodies of two administrative police and four civilians were discovered in the bush hours after the militiamen attacked two Kenyan police posts.
The dead include a teacher, a Red Cross officer and a 15-year-old boy.
Kimaiyo says he believes the attackers belong to al-Shabab, the Somali al-Qaeda-linked group that has staged many attacks inside Kenya in retaliation for an October 2011 decision to send troops into Somalia to battle the militants.
